Attendees were The Deckers, Bennetts, Martins, Townsends, Hamernicks, Hvizdaks, Lloyds, Penningtons, Sheltons, and Morgans. Potential new members, Vic and Dawn Cocowitch, also joined us for the rally.
Friday morning, everyone departed for a local plant tour (Titan Flow Control, Inc). Titan was formed by several executives of another company who were the victims of a merger. The owners are all local and have found a niche market in the industrial valve and strainer market.
They currently have three facilities in Lumberton and a backlog of orders. A couple of the ladies almost decided to pass on the trip, but both admitted that they were very glad they didn’t. Bill had asked Nancy Becker to provide a simplified Unit Logo for Titan to look at. Toward the end of the tour, we got to see their CNC Water Jet Cutter in operation and everyone was treated to their own souvenir. Bill and Shelley mounted theirs at the top of their entrance door.
On our return to the campground we were met by Gary and Linda Coyle who came from SC to spend the afternoon. Gary brought along his tools and treated everyone to a lesson in maintaining our trailer hitches complete with on site adjustments where requested.
Supper was a Low Country Shrimp Boil prepared on site by a local caterer.
The rally officially ended Sunday morning after a continental breakfast served by the hosts.
